The Prime Minister’s Laptop distribution ceremony was held on Wednesday, 10th January 2024, at Arija Campus of SMBBMU. The vice chancellor Prof: Dr. Nusrat Shah inaugurated the event. Mr Abdul Waheed Shaikh, commissioner Larkana Division attended as the Guest of Honour. Mr Roshan Shaikh, Director IT and focal person for the PM Laptop Scheme welcomed all participants and briefed regarding the importance of the Scheme which was initiated by the Government of Pakistan and implemented through HEC. He said our university has received 214 laptops which are going to be distributed among the highest achievers of all constituent colleges according to the online merit list.
The laptops were distributed among meritorious students by the Vice Chancellor, the Commissioner, Deans, Principals, and Directors of institutes.
Mr. Abdul Waheed Shaikh congratulated all the students on winning the Laptops and urged them to work hard and utilise the laptops for their studies and research purposes. Prof Nusrat Shah also congratulated all students on getting the reward for their wonderful academic performance. She said we are living in the digital era where the internet and other resources are very important for learning. She said laptops should be given to not just high achievers but to all students so that everyone can learn at par with others. She said we will try to request the government to provide this facility for all our students. The event was attended by the Deans, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Principals/Directors of constituent Colleges and institutes, Faculty Members, Officers and the winning students.
