Empowering Future Medical Professionals: Highlights of the "Medical Genetics and Relevant Errors of Morphogenesis" Crash Course Program at Chandka Medical College, Larkana.

SMBBMU, LARKANA, 09/09/2023 – Department of Pathology, Chandka Medical College, Larkana, held a highly successful two-day Crash Course Program titled as “Medical Genetics and Relevant Errors of Morphogenesis” on September 8th and 9th, 2023, at the Final Year Lecture Hall. The event, designed to bolster the knowledge and skills of future medical professionals regarding complex genetical disorders.

The program commenced with recitation of the Holy Quran. Subsequently, the Department of Pathology expressed its gratitude for the valuable contributions made by the esteemed Vice Chancellor in enhancing the standards of education and research. This recognition was evident through various initiatives, including workshops, crash courses, poster presentations, introduction of modular MBBS course and the introduction of new degree program, all of which have significantly contributed to the advancement of education and research within the institution.

Key highlights of the Crash Course Program included:

Comprehensive Subject Coverage: The program encompassed rigorous sessions encompassing a diverse array of topics pertaining to genetic disorders. These topics included: The Nature of Genetic Abnormalities Contributing to Human Disease, Mendelian Disorders: Diseases Caused by Single-Gene Defects, Complex Multigenic Disorders, Cytogenetic Disorders, Single-Gene Disorders with Atypical Patterns of Inheritance. This comprehensive curriculum was designed to provide students with a holistic and thorough educational experience in the field of genetical disorders, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter.

Expert Speaker: Dr. Seraj Ud Duala, a renowned expert in Medical Genetics led the program, offered profound insights and expert guidance on intricate aspects of genetics. He conducted the crash course with an elevated level of clarity, engagement, organization, and adaptability, ensuring an exceptional educational experience for all participants.

Interactive Learning: The sessions encouraged active participation, discussions, and Q&A sessions, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

The Vice Chancellor of SMBBMU shared her insights on the event, expressing her contentment with the proceedings. She articulated, "Our goal is to nurture the talents of our future medical professionals and equip them with the skills they need to succeed. The Crash Course Program stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to students’ education and prospective accomplishments." He also acknowledged the invaluable financial and moral support extended by the administration in facilitating the organization of this event.
