The event was organized on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 by Prof. Dr. Fozia Kashif & Prof. Dr. Shahida Magsi and their team of doctors & PGs at Gyne & Obs Unit (I)&(II) at Shaikh Zaid Women Hospital Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, (SMBBMU) Larkana.
Prof. Dr. Nusrat Shah the Vice Chancellor SMBBMU was invited to be the Chief Guest of the Occasion. She inaugurated the newly established High Dependency ward at unit II. The formal proceedings of the program were initiated with the glorious verses of Holy Quran followed by Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool SWT, The Vice Chancellor in her speech mentioned “that her mother is her role-model who was a brave lady. Although she herself never went to school, but she made sure that all her daughters went to school. My father was inspired by the leadership of Begum Nusrat Bhutto that he named me after her”. From childhood, education, career, and accomplishments she had had many stumbling blocks however, with high spirit. self-confidence and internal motivation she always kept going. “I am happy to be the 2nd lady Vice Chancellor of SMBBMU, Larkana” named after bibi Shaheed she added. We have to change the patriarchal thinking now as the women are competing in every filed of education and career.
Professor Dr. Shahida Magsi said that the day is not far when a woman will be considered a first-class citizen, She further said that it is a pity that women are not being given the right of any decision,
Professor Dr Fauzia Kashif said that mother is the greatest miracle in the world, We are lucky to have a woman vice-chancellor of the university for the second time, every lady doctor here is a success story in herself, she added. The ceremony was attended by MS Dr. Gulzar Ahmed Tanio, Prof. Shaista Abro, Dr. Dayali Gul, Dr. Tanveer Gad, and a large number of female doctors and paramedical staff, At the end of the program, commemorative shields and gifts were given to the guests. In the ceremony, songs were sung and tableaus were presented regarding International Women's Day.
