National Green Day
National Green Day was celebrated on 9th February, 2017 by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana, in line with the directions of Higher Education Commission,Pakistan.
The Day observed at Radio Pakistan Larkana, in which worthly Vice Chancellor SMBBMU Prof. Ghulam Asghar Channa and Dr. Afsar Ali Bhutto, Registrar SMBBMU planted trees at the Broadcasting House of Radio Pakistan Larkana, afterwards the Vice Chancellor SMBBMU was interviewed to express his views regarding the importance of Green Day.
SMBBMU arranged Special program on February 9th at newly established Main campus of University, in which various types of plants planted by the worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ghulam Asghar Channa, Registrar SMBBMU Dr. Afsar Ali Bhutto, Additional Registrar Dr. Saeed Ahmed Shaikh.
Senior Teaching Faculity Members and officers of University, Prof Akbar Ali Soomor, Prof Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Prof Abdul Manan Bhutto, Prof Surya Nisar, Prof Shabir Ahmed Larik, Prof Abdul Rauf Khaskheli, the Project Director Engr.Shahnila Gul & Director P&D Mr. Altamsh Sheeraz took part in the event and planted trees.
There was also organized Social Awareness Seminar about the importance of tree plantation. speakers emphasized on planting the trees and expressed its importance.
Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ghulam Asghar Channa said that Nature help us in many ways. Trees are closely related to our lives and they signify the presence of life. trees play important role in our lives and economy as well. He further expressed that trees are largest source of of Oxygen.
Registrar SMBBMU Dr. Afsar Ali Bhutto also expressed his views and said that trees are permanent compansions. they are useful for various purposes especially they leave behind pleasent impect on the climate. if the trees are destroyed, one day the who;e country would be converted into a desert and the country will bear the consequences of greenhouse effect. there would be no rain, resultantly the country will face great crisis due to its agricultural background. our complete agriculture system is dependent upon rain so trees play vital role. A tree is useful source pf food and important for betterment of climate
Prof Akbar Ali Soomro said that it is not easy to fully describe the importance benifits of trees in this world. they are part and parcel for our day to day life. we can not imagine our existance without trees.
A large number of Faculity members & Staff participated in the green Pakistan program, Seminar and tree plantation campaign.
